Every year since 2008, Bruxelles Environnement has launched a call for projects under the title of “Sustainable neighbourhoods”. The objective is to support initiatives taken by residents to create a neighbourhood dynamic to improve their local environments.

Brussels is no longer young. Walking in our city, you sometimes have the feeling of passing through eras. So what could be better than to renovate, sustainably? This is the challenge launched by sustainable neighbourhood contracts.
Over the years, the Green Neighbourhood scheme has collected new projects and initiatives to upgrade the city’s public spaces by making them greener.
The SustainableCity.be site is a Brussels regional initiative. It is managed by Brussels Environment in collaboration with various partners (other regional, para-regional, Community or federal institutions, but also associations).
